IGNIS BRUNENSIS 2024

In June, the REGIOJET IGNIS BRUNENSIS will light up Brno again with artistic fireworks for the twenty-seventh time. A record 250 drones will fly over the Brno Lake.

This year, the REGIOJET IGNIS BRUNENSIS festival will entertain Brno and South Moravia during the main period from 1 to 23 June 2024. The world competition of artistic fireworks and drone light show will traditionally be accompanied by entertainment programmes for both young and old.

The festival opening will take place in Brno-South during the Children's Day festival. The opening fireworks display on 1 June is dedicated not only to the little ones, but to children and adults of all ages. And especially to the fans of the band Mirai, with whom Jaroslav Štolba and the Flash Barrandov SFX team collaborated on the music for this fireworks project.

For more than a quarter of a century, the main part of IGNIS BRUNENSIS has been the competition of the world's top fireworks on the surface of the Brno Lake. The spectators will see four spectacular artistic pyroshows synchronized with music (broadcast live on Radio Krokodýl on 103 FM). On 8 June, the Czech Republic will present a tribute to the fireworks designer and co-founder of "Ignis" Ivan Martinek, on 12 June we’ll see Germany, on 15 June the Czech-European team and on 19 June Austria. Public viewing areas for fireworks are free for spectators on the beaches, banks and around the Brno Lake. Traditionally, there is also a comfortable ticketed zone – a sound-equipped RegioJet grandstand seating area (tickets advance GoOut.net).

We can again look forward to drone light shows before Saturday's fireworks at the lake (June 8 and 15). After the "two-hundred" performances in the last two editions of the IGNIS DRONE SHOW, an extraordinary premiere of a record 250 drones in the Czech Republic is prepared for this year. Two shows combined with music, each with 250 illuminated drones, will create animated images above the Brno Lake. On Saturday, 8 June, visitors will see the show "We are Europe", dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Czech Republic's accession to the EU, before the fireworks display. A week later, on 15 June, a drone squadron will paint a spectacle called "Water is Life" over the water.

In addition to fireworks, drones, amusement park attractions or rich refreshments by the Brno "sea", beer lovers will also find something to enjoy this year. The František Ondřej Poupě Beer Festival is once again part of the IGNIS BRUNENSIS at the Bystrc dock on the Brno Lake. On Friday 14 June and Saturday 15 June you will taste over 40 brands of beers from craft microbreweries from various parts of the Czech Republic at the Brno Lake.

Artistic fireworks and drone shows accompany the traditionally varied festival of entertainment from May to September. The most attractive weekend shows in the centre of Brno are Fun Below the Castle and Transport Nostalgia with rides of historic public transport vehicles under the guarantee of DPMB, TMB and IDS JMK (15-16 June), Police Day and the 25th International Police Championships in Equestrianism (7-8 June), Children's Days and other leisure, cultural, sports, presentation and gastronomic events. The programmes this year are interspersed with events to celebrate 100 years of Czech Radio Brno as well as the 160th anniversary of the Brno Fire Brigade. The festival will also mark the “70th birthday” of the Brno Observatory and Planetarium and celebrate the 30 years of Rádio Krokodýl.

The main co-organisers include the City of Brno, the South Moravian Region and SNIP & CO as the main producer. The title partner is RegioJet from the STUDENT AGENCY group. The main supervisor of the fireworks festival is Flash Barrandov SFX. Spectrum Production are the technological and artistic parner of the IGNIS DRONE SHOW. The official public transport of visitors is provided by the Brno public transport company DPMB.
